I've had a few glasses of wine (not in this photo, that's me and our baby girl...she's almost 4 now).  And I thought, 'why not update my about page'.  May as well get to know the real me.  My name is Bianca and if you didn't already know it, I like to talk about pregnant celebrities.

It all started when I was pregnant with my second child in 2011/12.  Over the past too many years I had slowly lost interest in how I was dressing. You might know what that is like.  Rather than worry about being seen in the same pair of trousers twice in two weeks, I deliberately bought more than one pair of black skirts and wore them as my 'work uniform'.  That slowly transpired into my non-work clothing as well.  Every weekend, the same pair of shorts or jeans (in winter) and one of a couple of different tops. In winter I always used to be cold when I was walking to work in the morning because I didn't own a jacket or a coat and I hated the thought of going shopping.  A long, long rut.

Then I fell pregnant for the first time. My husband and I went to South Africa for a holiday and I bought a few (maybe 5 or so) different maternity outfits.  I actually had different clothing styles to wear at home and work for the rest of my pregnancy.  I had a baby girl and slowly morphed back to my normal-stick-to-one-style self.

Then I fell pregnant again.  It was very early in my pregnancy and Jessica Alba was pregnant at the same time. I couldn't help it, I was obsessed with her style (and still am).  She looked so good and she was pregnant!  Around about the same time I discovered Pinterest and well, it was a match made in heaven.  I just started to pin some photos of pregnant celebrities, thinking that it would be inspiration for me during my 'fit pregnancy'.  That's right, I was going to have a celebrity 'thin pregnancy'.  My mind and my Pinterest account (and later, this blog) were filled with glorious images of how stylish and amazing I would look as a pregnant mother.  And then I got like Jessica Simpson circa 2011/12 fat.

So I stopped blogging (mostly).  Oh yeah, occasionally I would do a blog post.  Mostly self-loathing and pitying about how I was too short for this and too fat for that.  Yada yada yada.

Many months on, I noticed that my rarely updated blog was getting a few hits.  I hadn't stopped collecting photographs of pregnant celebrities - I had just stopped updating my blog.  So I dusted off my keyboard and started to blog again - all with the intention of blogging mostly about the good, not the bad.  I didn't want this blog to become a b1tch-fest, which it could so easily become.  That's not to say that the b1tch wand hasn't struck a few times.

Even though I'm no longer pregnant (baby boy, born March 2012), I still love to blog about and collect photographs of pregnant celebrities.  There was something else I was going to add to this paragraph but the wine has stolen it from my mind.

Anyway, stick around, please!  Let me know if there is anything that you would like me to add to this blog.  I'm really all about trying to inspire you with ideas on how to dress your bump so that you don't spend 9 plus months looking like (and feeling like) a cute baby elephant.

Cheers
Bianca

ps I can't guarantee how long this 'about' page will stick around.  I may read this tomorrow in the harsh light of day and hit delete very quickly!
